Bicycle Shopping!!

Thought it would be easy! We'd go look at a few and choose...should have known better! What type ? how many speeds ? on road? off road? price? ...it is like buying a car!!! We had decided we'd invest in good bikes and use them as part of our exercise regime and part of our "living green"! I work close enough to home that I could ride on nice days and my husband could ride his to the train station. He stopped driving & started training into Philadelphia over 2 years ago.

Did you know that you buy bicycles by components? And after you choose all the components there is a special helmet fitting, mirror adjustments and maintenance oils!

We spent 6 hours, 5 stores and came home more confused then when we left!!!

I really do think the best we saw for the money were "Performance Bikes" check out their website http://www.performancebikes.com/ and let me know what you think. We have not made that final purchase so any words of wisdom are greatly appreciated!

Making the Commitment!

If you are like me you often find yourself in a barrage of GREAT ideas. So many ... so great...which ones make the most sense for me and my family? And so I try...I try this and I try that and when I finally get "tried out" I revert back. The unfortunate part is that I revert back to "the old ways". Easy, comfortable old ways! Most, if not all, unhealthy!

But my goal is to continue to strive towards healthy living!! Emotional, Financial, Physical, Nutritional, Spiritual healthy living. I am making HEALTH a WAY of LIFE and I invite everybody to come along with me!

My first step is to make a commitment to the Goal. What could be more powerful then to make a commitment publicly and to ask for others to join in the commitment ? The purpose of this blog is to share and support each other in this commitment and to help sort through the barrage of great, some not so great, some down right unhealthy bordering on dangerous, ideas.

Let's hear some commitment! Where did you start?
